Hello! I’m Michelle, a qualified Professional Skin Therapist with a passion for skincare. In 2005, I graduated from the University of London with a degree in Cosmetic Science and Beauty Therapy. My studies were deeply rooted in science, and I was fascinated by the power of ingredients and their positive impact on the skin. This ignited my passion and set the foundation for my career as a Skin Therapist.


After my training, I worked at one of the most prestigious spas in Surrey, honing my skills and treating various skin concerns. My dream career began when I joined Dermalogica, the world’s leading professional skincare brand. Over the course of 15 years, I served as an Educator at the UK Head Office, training therapists across the country to tackle skin issues using cutting-edge ingredient technology. I later advanced to the role of Corporate Trainer, where I trained Dermalogica Educators in Scotland and Ireland.


During my time at Dermalogica, I also worked directly with clients in the treatment room, addressing a range of skin concerns including aging, acne, sensitivity, dryness, rosacea, eczema, and pigmentation. Helping clients achieve visible results and witnessing their skin transformations first-hand was incredibly rewarding.

10 Point Checklist To Starting Your Skin Care Journey 

  1. Visit a Professional Skin Therapist - With such a crowded landscape of product choice it can be very confusing what to chose from. Visiting a Skin Therapist will help you get the right education you need for your own individual skin concerns. 


  2. Find a routine that suits YOU - Everyone's individual skin needs are different, so starting off with a routine that is prescriptive to you is important. You may start off with a basic routine, but this can be built on as your skin health improves.


  3. Consistency is key - As with most things in life, if you want to see results then you need to keep consistent! So working your NEW routine into your schedule is important. 


  4. Know your triggers - If you have a skin concern such as acne, rosacea for example, try making a trigger diary to see what exacerbates the concern. This will help you change your lifestyle habits to get even better results.


  5. Regular skin check ups - Like going to the dentist, make it part of your schedule to go and have a skin check or treatment. Your skin is always changing, so you may need to adjust your products from time to time to continue your results.


  6. Don't cherry pick - try and stick to one product brand. Many ingredients contradict each other so it is important to stick to one brand so that your skin goals are on track.


  7. Look out for nasties - Artificial colour, fragrance, SD alcohol, lanolin. These are some of the ingredients to stay clear of among others! These ingredients can contribute to further skin concerns such as breakouts, pigmentation, dehydration and comedones.


  8. Use a daily SPF - come rain or shine, SPF is key for menopausal women to guard against ageing and pigmentation. 


  9. Results won't find you overnight - Like working out, you need to be committed and patient with your NEW skin care routine. Once you get started you will see small improvements day by day. To see the bigger results taking shape you will need to wait 4/8 weeks.


  10. Take before and after pictures - Keeping track of your results will help you keep motivated with your routine.
